One Accused Arrested After Late-Night Encounter — Illegal Firearm and Motorcycle Recovered

In a late-night operation, the Indirapuram Police Team arrested one accused following an encounter during a routine vehicle checking near the 5/6 Pulia area. The police recovered one illegal country-made pistol, one live cartridge, one empty cartridge, and a motorcycle used in criminal activities.

According to officials, the checking drive was conducted to curb rising incidents of chain-snatching and robbery in the Indirapuram area. During the operation, police signaled a suspicious motorcycle rider approaching from the Kanawani Pulia side to stop. Instead, the rider sped away, attempting to escape. In the haste to flee, the motorcycle slipped on the road, and the rider fell.

When surrounded, the accused fired at the police team in an attempt to evade arrest. The police retaliated in self-defense, injuring the accused in both legs. The injured accused was identified as Paras alias Sonu (28), son of Ram Avatar, resident of House No. 178, Gali No. 3, Kachchi Colony, Maujpur, Shahdara, Delhi. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.

During interrogation, Paras confessed to being involved in multiple snatching and robbery incidents across Ghaziabad and Delhi NCR. He admitted to snatching a gold chain from a woman outside Gate No. 5 of ATS Advantage on October 6, 2025, which he later sold in Delhi.
