The images from a recent ride event hosted by Royal Enfield give a clearer view of the Himalayan Electric in its near-production guise
Royal Enfield has been road testing the Himalayan Electric for a long time now, primarily in the mountainous terrain. Previously, the company officially released a few images of the pre-production version of E-Himalayan while on road test in the Ladakh region. In the latest development, we have got our hands on some clearer images of the test prototype, giving away a few new details.
While the details are unclear, the latest images of the all-electric Himalayan seem to be from an official ride event hosted by Royal Enfield. A line-up of multiple test bikes can be seen, suggesting that it could be a feedback ride, which is generally carried out to test the motorcycle in real-world conditions.
Going into details, the Him-E appears to be in its near-production guise, however, there are still a few unfinished touches here and there. The side panel sports a ‘test bed’ sticker, which means that it is still a test prototype. Upfront, a new LED headlamp, tall windscreen, LED turn indicators, and a black side panel with the silver outline are the highlights of the electric Himalayan.

It gets a long single-piece seat which extends all the way till the tank area with the prominent Royal Enfield branding. We can also spot a small luggage rack at the rear. Apart from this, the electric ADV features golden-spoke wheels fitted with dual-purpose block-pattern tyres, a beefy aluminium swing arm, and a clean rear profile where the LED indicators double as tail lamps.
The battery pack is positioned in the engine area with a proper bash plate. There seem to be two separate battery packs powering the E-Himalayan. The electric motor can be seen on the right side of the motorcycle, surrounded by an exposed section of the main frame. The drive chain is on the left side.

In terms of hardware, the electric Himalayan gets golden USD forks at the front and a rear mono-shock. Disc brakes handle braking duties at both ends. The test bike features a rectangular digital instrument cluster, and the switchgear setup is the typical Royal Enfield affair.
As per the media reports, the Royal Enfield E-Himalayan will pack a 14 kWh battery pack with an on-board charger. It will likely be mated to an electric motor capable of pushing out around 100 bhp. There will be four ride modes available: Zen (city), Off-road, Tour, and Rally.
