Over the coming 6 to 12 months, Mahindra & Mahindra is lining up an aggressive SUV offensive that will give rise to new models, mid-cycle facelifts and electrified derivatives. Both ICE and EV portfolios are set to see action with multiple launches already in advanced testing stages on Indian roads. We take a closer look at five upcoming SUVs that have been spotted on trial runs – offering a glimpse into what’s next from the brand:
1. 3-Door Mahindra Thar Facelift:
The three-door version of the Mahindra Thar has been caught on test camouflaged quite a few times now in recent months. Design revisions appear to draw inspiration from the Thar Roxx with noticeable changes likely to the bumpers, lighting setup, grille slats and alloy wheel patterns. Updates to the interior are also in the pipeline with Mahindra focusing on enhancing the premium appeal of the lifestyle off-roader.
2. Mahindra XUV 700 Facelift:
The facelifted Mahindra XUV700 has been undergoing frequent road tests ahead of its market entry expected in early 2026. Updates will primarily cover the front and rear bumpers, lighting systems and wheel design. While the SUV’s trademark flush door handles will continue unchanged, buyers can look forward to new paint choices and updates to the rear profile.

Inside, although the overall size stays intact, revisions are likely in the upholstery department, colour schemes and surface materials with the biggest highlight being a redesigned dashboard featuring a three-screen display layout. As for the performance, the familiar 2.0L petrol and 2.2L diesel engines could continue.
3. Mahindra XEV 7e:
Mahindra’s XUV.e8, the battery-powered version of the XUV700 first shown in concept form, is expected to be available under the XEV 7e name next year. Spy shots confirm that while its overall stance and silhouette remain close to the ICE model, it carries unique EV touches like a sealed grille and distinct light signatures. On the features front, it will have a lot in common with the born EVs.

4. Mahindra XUV 3XO Electric:
To be slotted beneath the XUV400 in the company’s electric range, it will sit at the entry point of the brand’s zero-emission portfolio and could offer an estimated driving range of around 450 km. Although the SUV will closely follow the styling and cabin theme of its ICE-powered counterpart, subtle tweaks inside and out are expected to mark its EV identity.
5. New Compact SUV:
Mahindra showcased as many as four new concepts at the Freedom_NU event in Mumbai. The Vision S concept based compact SUV taking design cues from the Scorpio N has already been caught teasing several times and it could go on sale sometime early next year in India.
