Kia posted 1,42,139 units in the first half of calendar year 2025 with a 12.7 per cent improvement during the same period last year

Kia India winded up the first half of calendar year 2025 with combined domestic and export volumes reaching 1,42,139 units. The tally represented a 12.7 per cent improvement over the 1,26,137 units sold during the same stretch last year. Out of this total, 11,813 units were exported between January and June 2025 – continuing the consistent demand for Kia’s India-manufactured models in international markets.

While exports maintained a steady run, the bulk of the growth was driven by domestic market activity, especially in the utility vehicle segment. The sales numbers are driven by the Seltos and Sonet duo while the arrival of the Syros compact SUV recently has helped in upping these figures as well. Meanwhile, the Carens has also been a key contributor.

Kia expanded the Carens range with the inclusion of the Carens Clavis ICE and furthermore, its electric version is set to debut on July 15, 2025. It stays visually close to the internal combustion model boasting a triangular LED headlamp design and the L-shaped LED daytime running lamps. The DRLs remain connected by a slim LED light bar across the nose.

A charging port is integrated into the front fascia while the wheels have been swapped out for a new set of dual-tone alloys compared to the regular model. The cabin, much like the outside, carries forward familiar themes. The dual-screen layout remains in place along with a two-spoke steering wheel. However, the electric Carens does introduce a new centre console.

Some of the highlighting features are ambient interior lighting, a panoramic sunroof and roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers. The Kia Carens Clavis EV will also come with Vehicle-to-Load functionality, allowing owners to power external devices directly from the battery. Under the bodywork, the Carens Clavis EV is expected to share its powertrain with the Hyundai Creta Electric.
