Here we have explained about the four new compact electric SUVs that are expected to launch in India within the next 12-18 months
The compact electric vehicle space is gearing up for a busy stretch with several upcoming SUVs expected to make their way to Indian roads within 12-18 months. Manufacturers such as Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra and Kia are preparing a slew of new EVs that could shake up the lower end of the electric car market in the near future. Here are the potential upcoming launches:
1. Kia Syros Electric:
The electric iteration of the recently introduced Syros which has seen a positive reception in its internal combustion form, is expected to debut in India sometime next year. Likely to share several traits with the upcoming Carens Clavis EV, the Syros EV will find itself competing directly with models such as the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400 in the compact electric SUV space. Expect the claimed range to be over 450 km per charge.
2. Tata Punch EV Facelift:
3. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV:
The electric version of the Mahindra XUV 3XO has already been seen on test runs several times indicating its road to launch soon. Positioned below the XUV400 in Mahindra’s EV portfolio, the upcoming model may borrow key components such as the battery pack from its larger sibling. While the overall silhouette will remain familiar, subtle exterior and interior updates are possible to differentiate it from the standard ICE version. It will take on Tata Punch EV, Nexon EV and the likes.
