OdysseEV & Indofast Energy Team Up to Launch Battery-Swapping Enabled SNAP E-Scooter
Odysse Electric Vehicles (OdysseEV), one of India’s homegrown electric mobility companies, has announced a strategic partnership with Indofast Energy—a joint venture between Indian Oil Corporation Limited and SUN Mobility. This collaboration aims to revolutionize urban commuting with the integration of battery-swapping technology into OdysseEV’s popular electric scooter model, SNAP.
This advanced version of the SNAP electric scooter is equipped with a 2000-watt peak motor, delivering a top speed of 55 km/h and a practical range of up to 100 kilometers per battery swap. The latest update not only enhances the convenience for urban riders but also brings down the cost of EV ownership significantly through a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) subscription model.
🔋 Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Plans:
To encourage mass adoption, OdysseEV is offering the SNAP at an attractive ex-showroom price of ₹49,999. Instead of purchasing the battery, customers can subscribe to monthly battery rental plans that offer flexibility and lower upfront costs:
- ₹999/month for standard battery capacity
- ₹2,499/month for extended battery capacity
This model not only reduces the initial cost burden but also enables users to swap batteries in minutes at designated stations, avoiding long charging times.
📍 Launch Cities:
The battery-swapping-enabled SNAP will be available initially in four major cities:
These cities are part of SUN Mobility’s established battery-swapping infrastructure network, making the rollout practical and user-ready from day one.
🤝 Strengthening Strategic Partnerships
This latest launch builds upon the earlier successful collaboration between OdysseEV and SUN Mobility for the Vader SM electric motorcycle, which was launched in international markets with battery-swapping features. Now, with the SNAP, the companies are bringing that innovation and convenience to the Indian urban commuter segment.
Nemin Vora, CEO of Odysse Electric Vehicles, and Rajat Malhan of Indofast Energy are the key leaders behind this move, aiming to foster faster EV adoption in India through practical solutions that directly address charging infrastructure challenges.
With battery-swapping set to play a crucial role in India’s EV growth story, this partnership highlights the evolving ecosystem where OEMs, energy companies, and tech enablers are coming together to build seamless, scalable, and sustainable mobility solutions.
