Metro In Dino brings together four heartfelt stories set in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Bangalore, exploring love, confusion, and connection in today’s fast-paced world.

Parth (Aditya Roy Kapur), a carefree, flirty travel blogger, meets Chumki (Sara Ali Khan), who craves stability. As sparks fly, the question remains — will their timing ever align?

Chumki’s sister Kajol (Konkona Sen Sharma) suspects her husband Monty (Pankaj Tripathi) of cheating. In a bold move, she pretends to be his mysterious online affair, using the fake name ‘Maya’ just to catch him in the act.

Parth’s friend Akash (Ali Fazal) is married to Shruti (Fatima Sana Shaikh), who gave up her dreams and was ready to start a family with him. When Akash quits his job to pursue music, they struggle to stay on the same page.

Meanwhile, Chumki’s mother Shivani (Neena Gupta) reunites with her old college sweetheart Parimal (Anupam Kher), who’s torn between his past and present responsibilities.

Blending warmth, emotion and humor, Metro In Dino tells stories of modern relationships; imperfect, real and deeply human.

Metro In Dino Movie Review

Metro In Dino is a lovely, layered, and thoroughly heartwarming spiritual sequel to Life in a… Metro. Sequels often struggle to recreate the magic of the original, but here, Anurag Basu manages to strike gold again. This film feels fresh yet familiar, full of warmth, wit, and emotional depth.

The film follows four interconnected stories, each set in a different metro city and exploring modern relationships in all their messiness and beauty. What stands out right away is how human and flawed the characters are. They’re not perfect, but they are real and relatable, and that’s what makes them endearing.

The story of Kajol and Monty, played by Konkona Sen Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi, brings a delightful mix of humor and heart. Their storyline is all about second chances and rediscovering love in a marriage that seems to be slipping away. Pankaj Tripathi’s comic timing is spot-on, and the chemistry between him and Konkona is unexpectedly charming. Their alter-ego shtick might even remind you of Modern Family‘s Phil and Claire and their Clive Bixby-Julianna act.

On the other side of the emotional spectrum, we have Fatima Sana Shaikh and Ali Fazal as Shruti and Akash. Their segment deals with heavier themes; long-distance, career sacrifices, a pregnancy-abortion dilemma… all of which are portrayed with raw honesty. The two actors bring great emotional depth.

Sara Ali Khan and Aditya Roy Kapur bring in a refreshing, light-hearted charm as Chumki and Parth. Their story gives off strong K-drama vibes – it’s fun, playful, and full of adorable chemistry. Aditya plays the flirty, carefree travel blogger perfectly, while Sara surprises with a warm and heartfelt performance. Despite a slightly unflattering haircut, she shines in every scene she’s in.

Rounding off the ensemble are the seasoned veterans, Neena Gupta and Anupam Kher, who bring quiet gravitas and gentle nostalgia to their story.

The music by Pritam is another big win for the film. It flows effortlessly with the narrative; light and playful in some parts, introspective and emotional in others. The soundtrack complements the mood of each story beautifully.

What really works for Metro In Dino is how effortlessly the stories blend humor, drama, and emotion. Nothing feels forced. The comedy is organic, the drama never feels melodramatic, and every performance adds something special to the whole.

In the end, Metro In Dino is a charming, feel-good anthology that gets modern relationships just right. It’s a film about love, timing, second chances, and everything in between!
