In a recent candid chat with Instant Bollywood, Genelia spoke about her journey in films and how she’s never been the kind of person to draw lines between industries. “I wish we didn’t term films as South industry, North industry, Marathi industry, Bollywood,” she said. And it makes sense. Genelia has worked across languages and film cultures; from Telugu to Hindi to Marathi, and done so with grace and ease.
“I loved acting. I didn’t see language as a reason to not go there (South). I didn’t put one industry above the other. And even as an actor, I may work with a superstar, but I will still work with a newcomer. I’m very clear and that’s always been my graph. I will treat my superstar film as much as I treat my newcomer film,” she explained.
