This article lists the latest EVs in India launched this year with the highest driving range on a full charge
As we are in the second half of this year, it can be stated with utmost confidence that this has been the year of EVs in the Indian auto industry. In the first six months, we witnessed the launch of several new electric cars from the leading auto companies. As we head into second half, we will see more and more EVs going on sale in the country. However, for the time being, we will only talk about the top 5 electric cars launched so far in India with the highest driving range in this piece.
1. Mahindra BE6
The first of Mahindra’s brand spanking new Electric Origin SUVs, the BE6 was unveiled on Nov 26, 2024 in Chennai at the brand’s Unlimit India event alongside the XEV 9e. The bookings commenced from Feb 14, 2025 while the first deliveries of the e-SUV started by April 2025.
The all-electric SUV is presented with two battery pack options of 59 kWh and 79 kWh which return a driving range (MIDC P1+P2) of 557 km and 682 km, respectively, on a single charge. It is offered in three variants namely Pack One, Pack Two and Pack Three in a price bracket of Rs 18.90-26.90 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.

2. Mahindra XEV 9e
The XEV 9e was unveiled at the Unlimit India event alongside the BE6. Based on the INGLO platform, it is available in four trims namely Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three and Pack Three Select in a price range of Rs 21.90-30.50 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market.
The all-electric SUV comes equipped with two battery choices of 59 kWh and 79 kWh which deliver driving range (MIDC P1+P2) of 542 km and 656 km, respectively, on a full charge. It directly rivals Tata Harrier EV in the domestic market. Mahindra XEV 9e deliveries began from April 2025 in the country.
3. Tesla Model Y
The American EV brand finally entered the Indian market last month (July 2025) with the launch of Model Y. It is offered in two trims namely RWD and RWD Long-Range at price points of Rs 59.89 lakh and Rs 67.89 lakh (Both ex-showroom, India), respectively. Tesla Model Y gets two battery choices of 63 kWh and 83 kWh with driving range (WLTP) of 500 km and 622 km, respectively.
Both the variants have a top speed of 201 kmph. A few notable features onboard include power recline, heated and ventilated front seats, power two-way folding and heated rear seats, 15.4-inch central touchscreen and 9 Speakers audio system.

4. Tata Harrier EV
Being hailed as the country’s safest all-wheel-drive electric SUV, Tata Harrier EV is priced between Rs 21.49-28.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. The electric SUV is available in a total of six variants namely Adventure 65, Adventure S 65, Fearless+ 65, Fearless+ 75, Empowered 75 and Empowered 75 QWD.
It is retailed with two battery packs of 65 kWh and 75 kWh with driving range (MIDC P1+P2) of 538 km and 627 km, respectively. The top-of-the-range AWD variant gets the 75 kWh battery with a range of 622 km.
5. 2025 Kia EV6
The all-electric SUV from Kia was launched earlier this year in a fresh avatar at a price point of Rs 65.97 lakh (ex-showroom) in the country. It is available in a single fully-loaded GT Line AWD variant with a 84 kWh battery pack which returns a range of 650+ km on a full charge.
Underpinning the Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), Kia EV6 comes with several premium features in the form of Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Drive Modes, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V), Level 2 ADAS with 20+ safety functions and 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
