New Delhi :The recently passed Education Bill (Fees Act 2025) in the Delhi Assembly has triggered a major political showdown. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly opposed the bill, claiming that it will burden parents financially and weaken their rights in the education system.

AAP’s Stand on the Fees Act

AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj announced that the party will launch a pamphlet distribution campaign across Delhi to inform parents about the impact of the new Education Bill. According to AAP, the legislation lacks safeguards for students and parents, while giving private schools more leeway to hike fees.

Bharadwaj alleged, “This Fees Act will make education costlier for lakhs of families. Parents deserve transparency and accountability, but the government has chosen to side with private institutions instead.”

Government’s Counter: “Opposition Misleading People”

Education Minister Ashish Sood, however, defended the bill and accused the opposition of spreading misinformation. He said, “The opposition is frustrated. This Education Bill is meant to bring reforms, transparency, and efficiency in the education sector. AAP is misleading parents for political gains.”

Political Tensions Rise in Delhi

The Delhi Education Bill 2025 has now become a flashpoint in state politics. While the government argues that the Fees Act will improve accountability in schools, AAP insists it is a blow to parents’ rights and will lead to uncontrolled fee hikes.

With both sides standing firm, the issue is expected to dominate the political landscape in the coming weeks. Parents’ associations and education activists are also watching closely, as the implementation of the new law could directly impact thousands of families in Delhi.
