The reworked 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine in the new Nissan Patrol Nismo pumps out 495 horsepower and 700 Nm in Sport mode

The all-new Nissan Patrol Nismo has been developed almost entirely around the Middle East region’s tastes with both the styling and mechanical upgrades part of the equation. A reworked 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 sits under the bonnet, pushing out 495 horsepower and 700 Nm in Sport mode – the highest output the VR35DDTT has achieved anywhere globally.

Assembled by technicians at Nissan’s Iwaki facility in Japan, the powertrain is paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission and paddle shifters and it gets region-specific mapping. The exterior boasts a reshaped bumper at the front which channels airflow more efficiently towards the brakes, shaving disc temperatures by up to 6 per cent during high load driving.

Around the back, aero tweaks include extended spoilers and layered diffusers which are said to improve high-speed stability and cornering grip. Red detailing outlines the edges of its lower body underlining its motorsport aspirations without being garish. On the inside, a black and red layout stretches across the dashboard, seats and door panels, highlighted by contrast stitching and red belts.

The start/stop button gets red treatment along with aluminium pedals, carbon-effect surfaces and seats featuring a quilted pattern inspired by the SUV’s own grille mesh are other key elements. The main mechanical enhancement comes in the form of Nismo’s electronically adaptive dampers. These react in real-time, dialling in comfort or firmness based on throttle and steering input, making the SUV feel more agile and responsive according to the brand.

Partnering with RAYS, Nissan has developed a set of new 22-inch forged wheels – lighter by 23 per cent compared to standard wheels – improving unsprung weight and brake cooling. The exhaust has been specifically tuned for a deeper growl, accompanied by active cabin sound enhancement. The front bumper houses vertical grille and side air curtains to cut lift and increase grip.

The rear end tweaks include a longer spoiler, air outlets and side splitters. The revised V-motion grille now integrates a 3D honeycomb mesh as well. The new Patrol Nismo will be offered in five exterior colours – Black Pearl, Gray Metallic, White Pearl, Blue Metallic and an exclusive Stealth Gray – each available in monotone or dual-tone shades with a contrasting black roof.

The rear also gets a Formula E-style fog light. The new Patrol Nismo completes a triad in Nissan’s Middle East range: sitting alongside the standard Patrol and the rugged PRO-4X. Deliveries are scheduled to begin across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and neighbouring markets from next month.
