In the next couple of months, we will get to see as many as five new SUVs launches in the Indian market ahead of the Diwali festive season
As we inch closer to the festive season of Diwali 2025, leading auto brands in the Indian market have started readying their big-ticket models for a launch around this time. Several OEMs including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai and Tata Motors will introduce their new SUVs in the country in Oct 2025 as it is considered quite auspicious for buying new vehicles during Diwali. Lets talk in detail about the upcoming SUV launches taking place in India by Diwali 2025.
1. 2025 Tata Punch Facelift
The best-selling car of 2024 will get a mid-cycle facelift in order to stay afloat in the competition. The 2025 Tata Punch has already been spotted testing multiple times and it is likely to go on sale in October, ahead of the festive season of Diwali.
The spy-images suggest that it will take styling cues from the Punch EV while the cabin will also be upgraded with modern features. The naturally-aspirated 1.2L 3-cylinder will be retained along with the 5-speed manual and AMT gearbox options.

2. New-Gen Hyundai Venue
The new-gen Venue will debut in Oct 2025 in the Indian market. It has been often sighted during its test runs and the spy-shots indicate that the SUV has undergone substantial makeover in terms of design and interior cabin.
Most of the styling inspiration comes from the current version of Creta and Palisade SUVs. It is believed that the new model of the Venue will be offered with Level 2 ADAS tech. However, it will continue to carry the current crop of petrol and diesel engines with manual and automatic transmissions, without any change in the power and torque.
3. Maruti Escudo
Maruti Escudo (Codename: Y17) is all set to launch on Sep 3, 2025 in the domestic market. It will be a direct rival to Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos while touted as the most feature-rich Maruti SUV till date in India. To be retailed via the regular Arena dealerships, Maruti Escudo will share the platform and powertrains with the Grand Vitara.
It will also have a Toyota derivative which will be slotted above the Taisor in the brand’s line-up. Maruti Escudo will be the flagship model of Arena showrooms, identical to the Grand Vitara which is the flagship vehicle sold via the Nexa outlets.

4. 2025 Renault Kiger
Renault India recently launched the 2025 Triber MPV in India with visual updates and new features. Now, we have learnt that the Kiger SUV will also receive similar updates as it is slated to launch around Oct 2025 in the country. The 2025 Renault Kiger has already been spotted on the Indian roads, albeit with heavy camouflage.
Mechanically, the new SUV will continue with the naturally-aspirated 1.0L petrol and 1.0L turbocharged petrol engines while gearbox choices will also remain unchanged in the form of 5-speed manual, 5-speed AMT and CVT units.
5. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra is likely to launch the all-electric version of the XUV 3XO in the coming couple of months in the country. It has already been spotted with bare minimum camouflage, revealing the EV-specific updates. Mahindra XUV 3XO EV will be positioned below the XUV 4OO in the brand’s portfolio as it will come equipped with a 35 kWh battery pack as compared to the XUV 4OO’s 40 kWh battery. The all-electric SUV will be at loggerheads with Tata Nexon EV with prices in the bracket of Rs 14-20 lakh (ex-showroom).
