TVS garnered a total of over 5 lakh units last month with a huge 30 per cent year-on-year increase
TVS Motor Company has reached a new milestone by surpassing the five lakh unit sales mark in a single month for the very first time in its history. It recorded 5,09,536 units in August 2025 which resulted in a huge 30 per cent year-on-year increase over 3,91,588 units sold during the same month last year.
The overall tally led to the brand’s highest monthly sales performance to date setting itself well in contention to record good sales numbers during this festive season. As expected, the two-wheeler division drove the bulk of the brand’s performance with sales rising from 3,78,841 units in August 2024 to 4,90,788 units last month with a healthy 30 per cent growth.
Focussing on domestic two-wheeler volumes alone, the numbers surged 28 per cent – increasing from 2,89,073 units to 3,68,862 units over the same period. The Hosur-based manufacturer has been reaping benefits of its popular Apache range while the Jupiter and Raider are other strong contributors along with the iQube electric offering.

In line with the demand, TVS is all set to introduce the Ntorq 150 today in India while the Orbiter e-scooter was launched only a few days ago for a starting price of Rs. 1 lakh (ex-showroom). Last month, motorcycles contributed 2,21,870 units to the tally with a 30 per cent increase over last year while scooters fared even better with a 36 per cent jump to 2,22,296 units.
In the EV space, TVS registered total sales of 25,138 units in August 2025 – only slightly higher than the 24,779 units sold a year ago with the company acknowledging that supply constraints around magnet availability continue to pose challenges. Exports also played a big role in TVS’s performance with international shipments rising 35 per cent to 1,35,367 units in August 2025 against 99,976 units a year earlier.

It must be noted that the two-wheeler exports specifically jumped 36 per cent – climbing from 89,768 units to 1,21,926 units. Last but not the least, the three-wheeler sales too registered an appreciable surge – climbing 47 per cent to 18,748 units in August 2025 from 12,747 units during the same month last year.
TVS is also planning to bring in its first ever adventure tourer, the RTX 300, in the coming months and it will be powered by a brand new engine. Taking plenty of inspiration form the flagship 310 cc range, the RTX 300 won’t be an out-and-out adv but instead it will appeal to a wide range of consumers looking to own a touring machine.
