TVS Apache RTX (9)

TVS Apache RTX 300 derives power from an all-new 299.1 cc, liquid-cooled, engine producing 36 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque

TVS Motor Company’s recently launched Apache RTX 300 has already seen its first price revision, barely two weeks after it hit the market. Introduced as the company’s debut adventure tourer, the motorcycle entered showrooms with a starting tag of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). At launch, the top-spec BTO trim carried a price of Rs 2.29 lakh, sitting above the mid-variant priced at Rs 2.14 lakh.

The brand has increased the cost of the flagship BTO variant by Rs 5,000. With this hike, the premium model now retails at Rs 2.34 lakh (ex-showroom). The base and mid-spec versions, meanwhile, continue at their original launch prices. The BTO trim gets the exclusive Viper Green colour while other colour choices are Pearl White, Lightning Black, Metallic Blue and Tarn Bronze.

It also boasts TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System), brass coated chain ring, fully adjustable suspension and more. The new TVS Apache RTX 300 has entered the 300 cc adventure touring segment with the intent to shake up established names like the KTM 250 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and Suzuki V-Strom 250. Powering the motorcycle is an all-new 299.1 cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine.

It is tuned to deliver 36 PS at 9,000 rpm and 28.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. The motor is paired with a six-speed transmission and benefits from a slipper clutch along with a bi-directional quickshifter. What sets the Apache RTX 300 apart is its generous equipment list, even in the base variant. Riders get a ride-by-wire throttle system, four selectable riding modes – Urban, Rain, Tour, and Rally – and switchable traction control.

Cruise control also comes standard. A five-inch TFT instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and GoPro control are other highlights. Built around a high-tensile steel trellis frame, the suspension duties are handled by USD forks at the front and a mono-tube floating piston shock at the rear – both offering 180 mm of travel.

Braking performance is handled by 320 mm discs at both ends – supported by dual-channel ABS with terrain-adaptive and switchable modes. The motorcycle offers a practical 200 mm of ground clearance and a seat height of 835 mm. Despite its rugged stance, the motorcycle keeps its kerb weight around 180 kg.
