Here is the complete variant-wise price breakup of the top 5 midsize SUVs after the rollout of GST 2.0 in India
The Union Govt rolled out the GST 2.0, the restructured and simplified version of the taxation system, a few days back in the country. This made cars and bikes a lot cheaper than before and all the automakers chose to pass these benefits directly to the customers ahead of the festive season of Diwali. The sales numbers are certainly going to rise in the coming months as 2025 GST reforms come into effect from Sep 22 with lower tax rates. In this piece, we talk about the impact of GST 2.0 on midsize SUVs.
1. Hyundai Creta
The highest-selling midsize SUV in India has become more economical by around Rs 70k. Earlier, the petrol and diesel variants of the Creta were taxed between 45-50 percent. However, with the introduction of the GST 2.0, the entire variant line-up of Hyundai Creta, irrespective of fuel, attracts a uniform GST of 40 percent.
Hyundai Creta is priced between Rs 11.11-20.00 lakh. But, come Sep 22, it will be available in a price range of 10.73-19.31 lakh with the prices being reduced by Rs 38k-70k in the domestic market.
