The Union govt has come with a bouquet of presents for the general public of the country by slashing the GST on cars and bikes. Ahead of the Diwali festive season, it is seen as a game-changer with sales numbers expected to rise in the coming months due to reduction in price of almost every ICE-powered vehicle – be it a big SUV or small sized hatchback. In this piece, we will talk about the top 5 full-sized SUVs getting cheaper after the roll out of GST 2.0 in the country.

1. Toyota Fortuner

Toyota Fortuner is the undisputed leader of the full-size SUV segment from the last decade or so in the Indian market. With the revised GST rates, the SUV has become cheaper by up to Rs 3.49 lakh, depending on the variant. While the base 4×2 MT petrol grade gets more economical by Rs 2.40 lakh, the range-topping GRS trim receives the highest benefit of Rs 3.49 lakh, thus bringing the effective price below Rs 50 lakh mark.

Toyota Fortuner is sold with 2.7 petrol and 2.8L diesel engines alongside manual and automatic transmission options with 4×2 and 4×4 drive systems. The company also launched the diesel-hybrid version of the SUV a few months back.

2. Skoda Kodiaq

The Kodiaq SUV is retailed in two derivatives namely Sportline and Selection L&K at price points of Rs 46.89 lakh and Rs 49.24 lakh, respectively. However, post the GST reduction, the price has come down by up to Rs 3.28 lakh. Both the variants are powered by a 2.0L TSI petrol engine with automatic gearbox as standard. The new price for the Sportline and Selection L&K, as per Skoda India official website, will be Rs 43.76 lakh and Rs 45.96 lakh, respectively.

3. Jeep Meridian

The 7-seater SUV has become cheaper by up to Rs 2.47 lakh after the recently introduced 2025 GST reforms in the country. Available in both petrol and diesel fuel trims, it is priced between Rs 24.99-36.79 lakh. However, the company has slashed the price in the range of Rs 1.66-2.47 lakh and hence bringing down the price in the bracket of Rs 23.33-34.34 lakh.

4. MG Gloster

MG Gloster has become more affordable by up to Rs 3.04 lakh as it has been put in the 40 percent GST slab from the 50 percent tax category. The SUV is presently priced between Rs 41.07-46.23 lakh and with the 2025 GST reforms, it could come down to 38.36-43.19 lakh. It is likely to get a price cut in the range of Rs 2.71-3.04 lakh.

5. Citroen C5 Aircross

The C5 Aircross gets the maximum benefits of GST reduction as its starting price comes down to Rs 37.32 lakh for the Shine variant with a massive drop by nearly Rs 2.70 lakh. Citroen C5 Aircross is currently priced at Rs 39.99 lakh as it comes in a single fully-loaded Shine variant in the country. All the prices mentioned in this article are ex-showroom.
