Here’s a list of 5 cars that didn’t even find a single buyer in September 2025; Includes models from Maruti Suzuki, Kia, Citroen and Nissan
While the Indian automotive market continues to grow at a steady pace, there are multiple models on sale which are having a hard time attracting customers. These low-selling models are generally a burden on dealers as well as manufacturers. In this article, we will look at the 5 cars which didn’t even sell a single buyer in the Indian market.
1. Kia EV6
Kia India launched the EV6 facelift in March this year at a price tag of Rs. 65.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric SUV is sold in India via the CBU route. Despite the Korean carmaker offering hefty discounts, the EV6 couldn’t find a single customer in September 2025. It is positioned in a low-volume premium electric car segment, where it faces strong competition from multiple brands. Apart from this, the high sticker cost and only a single AWD variant further dull down the EV6’s appeal.

2. Kia EV9
The Kia EV9 was launched in India in October 2024 at a price tag of Rs. 1.30 crore (ex-showroom). Much like the EV6, the brand’s flagship electric SUV is sold as a CBU unit, commanding high taxation. It is positioned in a segment where customers generally prefer mainstream luxury brands, which led to its zero sales output in September 2025. The Kia EV9 is equipped with a 99.9 kWh battery pack, claiming a range of 561 kilometres on a single charge.
3. Maruti Suzuki Ciaz
Maruti Suzuki pulled the plug on the Ciaz earlier this year in April. The production of the sedan ended in March 2025, however, it was still selling in small numbers due to the unsold inventory available at the company’s stockyard as well as dealerships. It recorded zero sales in September 2025. The Ciaz was launched in 2014, and it got a mid-life facelift update in 2018. The shrinking sedan market and low sales were the primary reasons behind its discontinuation in India.

4. Nissan X-Trail
The X-Trail was launched in the Indian market in August 2024 at a price tag of Rs. 49.92 lakh (ex-showroom). The exorbitantly high sticker cost meant that the SUV didn’t garner much interest amongst customers. It was sold via the CBU route, and only 150 units were imported in India. Nissan sold zero units of the X-Trail in September 2025. Earlier this year, the SUV was being sold by a premium used car dealership with over Rs. 20 lakh discount.
5. Citroen C5 Aircross
Citroen launched the C5 Aircross in India in April 2021. Coming from a new manufacturer with a limited sales and service network, the SUV didn’t appeal to the mid-size segment customers. The lack of features and competing in a very crowded segment with high-selling models like the Hyundai Creta further led to the decline in its sales. In the month of September 2025, Citroen didn’t even find a single taker for the C5 Aircross SUV.
