As for this match, while backup keeper Dhruv Jurel can be the wicketkeeper when the side is bowling, he cannot replace Pant in the second inning while batting, as the ICC rules state that a batting substitution can be made only in case of a concussion injury, which Pant has not suffered.
However, in an act of heroic will that will be remembered for a long time, Rishabh Pant has taken to the field with a fractured foot. And while he is clearly struggling to hit the ball, he is on the pitch and will only leave after he is out.

As for the Indian Cricket Team, Jadeja got out almost immediately on Day Two. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur scored 40-odd runs to push India past the 300-run mark. The score is currently 318/6, with Pant and Washington Sundar on strike.
