The all-new Tata Sierra will likely go on sale in the coming months with the electric version arriving before the ICE counterpart
Tata Motors unveiled the all-new Sierra at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 with plenty of buzz surrounding it. The market introduction is expected to happen before the close of this year or in early 2026 with the electric variant expected to arrive prior to the ICE counterpart. The midsize offering has been caught testing multiple times over the past several months.
The latest spy pictures of the new Tata Sierra come from Coimbatore as a duo of test mules were spotted running trials on a highway wearing heavy camouflage and a slightly tapped up front end. The homegrown manufacturer could be testing two variants of the five-seater and their resemblance with the model unveiled earlier this year is more than evident.
Expect for a set of differently styled alloy wheels, the test mules replicate the model showcased at the motoring show as the thick horizontal grille section with sleek headlamps and an LED light bar, bumper openings, slab-sided rear end with sleek tail lamp strip, integrated spoiler and a busy rear bumper can be clearly seen.

The production model will feature a black roof section that goes with the panoramic sunroof creating a glass band effect giving the impression of a floating top as tall pillars and a raked front windshield and long wheelbase should ensure a spacious cabin. Another characteristic of the design will be the sculpted wheel arches and smart door handles which you could see in the spy images too.
The upcoming Tata Sierra will more likely offer DC fast charging along with bidirectional functionalities such as V2L and V2V energy transfer. While it remains to be seen if it will adopt the Harrier EV’s dual-motor configuration and lifetime battery warranty, the chances appear promising with a range of over 500 km. The SUV could also share several elements with the Curvv.

The ICE version could feature a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol motor producing 168 PS and 280 Nm of torque. Alongside this, Tata may continue offering the familiar 2.0-litre diesel unit which generates roughly 170 PS and 350 Nm. Both six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic transmissions will be made available.
The cabin will boast a triple screen layout comprising a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital console and a 12.3-inch display for the driver along with Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera system, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a four-spoke steering wheel with illuminated logo, terrain modes and much more.
