The Bangladesh Cricket Board named a 16-man roster for the forthcoming three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, and former captain Najmul Hossain Shanto has lost his spot in the squad.
Recently, there has been debate about Shanto’s form in the condensed format. In order to concentrate on his T20 batting, the left-hander was compelled to resign from his position as captain of the T20I team earlier.
After a one-year hiatus, all-rounder Muhammad Saifuddin has rejoined the T20I team. Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, and Taskin Ahmed are the other returnees.
Soumya Sarkar, Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, Nahid Rana, and Khaled Ahmed, who were included in the previous T20I team against Pakistan, have also lost their place in the squad in addition to Shanto.
From July 10 to July 16, the three-match T20I series will take place.
