Nissan Tekton will be underpinned by the same platform as the upcoming Duster and it will be launched in India early next year
Nissan has pulled back the curtain on its all-new C-segment SUV for India and abroad – the Tekton – teasing design and premium features ahead of its full launch in 2026. Positioned to compete in the highly contested compact SUV space, the Tekton is expected to rival segment stalwarts like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
The Tekton name, rooted in Greek meaning “craftsman” or “architect,” reflects Nissan’s focus on precision engineering and premium design. The SUV is intended for customers who “shape their world,” combining everyday practicality with aspirational styling. This launch marks the second model under Nissan’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, produced in partnership with Renault at Chennai for both domestic sales and exports to select global markets.
Design-wise, the Tekton takes inspiration from Nissan’s legendary Patrol SUV. The front fascia features a sculpted, commanding bonnet with a robust lower bumper, paired with signature C-shaped LED headlamps. This gives the SUV a strong road presence, blending ruggedness with refinement. The muscular side profile is accented with a unique “Double-C” motif on the front doors, subtly inspired by mountain ranges.
At the rear, the Tekton showcases a full-width red LED light bar connecting its dynamic tail-lamps, projecting a premium yet sturdy look. The prominent Tekton nameplate on the tailgate emphasizes the SUV’s confident identity. Overall, the design conveys both capability and elegance, balancing urban appeal with off-road toughness.
While full interior specifications are yet to be revealed, early previews suggest a cabin built for comfort and sophistication. Premium materials, soft-touch finishes, and thoughtfully integrated technology are expected to deliver a modern, user-friendly experience. Infotainment and driver-assistance systems are likely to be class-leading, maintaining Nissan’s reputation for tech-forward vehicles.
The Tekton is expected to be offered with petrol and hybrid powertrains, with higher trims possibly receiving all-wheel drive. This combination aims to make the SUV versatile for both city commutes and weekend adventures, appealing to a wide spectrum of buyers looking for practicality, performance, and style.
With its launch, Nissan hopes to strengthen its presence in India’s growing SUV market. By blending bold design, advanced technology, and global engineering standards, the All-New Tekton is shaping up to be more than just another compact SUV—it is a statement of Nissan’s intent to lead, innovate, and deliver a premium driving experience to Indian customers.
