New Hyundai Venue will be launched in India on November 4 and it will pack an assortment of updates inside and out

Set for its India debut on November 4, the compact SUV is undergoing its most substantial overhaul since its launch back in 2019 and it’s clearly gunning for segment dominance. The first clue came from South Korea where the new Venue surfaced completely undisguised a few days revealing all the design updates we are so familiar with in recent times courtesy of the spy shots.

The front fascia now wears a busier face – the grille is larger, wider and finished in Hyundai’s latest parametric pattern. A pair of sleek C-shaped LED DRLs outline the upper edge while the main headlamps sit lower in sculpted housings. The bumper’s thicker lines give it a planted as well as a rugged stance.

The side profile remains compact but gains a new alloy wheel design and crisper creases that bring some freshness. Hyundai has ditched the older layout for a twin-screen setup that feels straight out of its global models. Two 12.3-inch displays sit under a single glass panel – one for the digital cluster and another for the infotainment system.

Both will support OTA updates bringing in new features over time. The dashboard looks wider and cleaner now with horizontally laid out AC vents and a simpler centre console. Ambient lighting function, a redesigned multifunctional steering wheel and new seat upholstery are other highlights. The second generation Hyundai Venue will also pack in new safety features.

Hyundai is moving up to Level 2 ADAS as you can expect features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, forward collision warning and autonomous emergency braking. Under the skin, though, things stay familiar and that’s not necessarily bad news. The trio of engines will stay put: the 1.2-litre NA petrol, the 1.0-litre turbo petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel mill.

A six-speed manual, a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and a six-speed torque converter automatic will be transmission choices as in the outgoing model. It will take on the segment-leading Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV 3XO and others in the compact SUV segment.
