NEET Paper Leak: The vacation bench of Justice SVN Bhatti and Justice Vikram Nath said that they will hear the matter next on July 8.

Amid widespread protests by students across India following the NEET paper leak, the Supreme Court on Tuesday told the Centre as well as the National Testing Agency that even if there was 0.1 per cent chance of some sort of error on part of authorities, it should be accepted and dealt with. The observations came during the hearing of a plea that sough cancellation of the NEET exams that were held in May last month.

The court said that the NTA is expected to take action in ‘timely manner’. All petitions related to NEET row will be heard on July 8 next month.

The apex court’s observation comes amid NTA’s decision to re-conduct the NEET-UG exams following the uproar over ‘grace marks.’ The NTA will conduct the NEET-UG exams on June 23. The development came after the panel formed by the NTA told apex court how over 1,500 candidates were awarded grace marks. These 1,563 candidates have the option of taking the test again on June 23. In a related development, Bihar’s Economic Offences Unit investigating the NEET paper leak said that its probe hints at “paper leak”

Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party held anti-NEET protests in the national Capital today. Demanding stringent action, the AAP said that the National Testing Agency has not only betrayed the children of the country but the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. The party said that so many cases of paper leaks have been reported from Gujarat and Bihar but the Centre has remained tight-lipped on the matter. This is a matter of future of millions of students, AAP said.
