Man City to Sign Rodrygo: Manchester City have revived their interest in Real Madrid winger Rodrygo, potentially derailing Arsenal’s pursuit of the Brazilian.
City had been linked with the 24-year-old earlier this year, along with Arsenal, but talks had cooled. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League champions are again considering a move, with Pep Guardiola understood to rate the player highly. Madrid are open to selling if Rodrygo requests a transfer, with an asking price of around €100m (£86.6m).
The renewed push comes as City prepare to move on several wide players. Jack Grealish is close to a loan to Everton, James McAtee is nearing a switch to Nottingham Forest, and Savio is in talks with Tottenham Hotspur. Those exits would free both squad space and funds for a major signing.
Man City to Sign Rodrygo: Real Madrid Willing to Leave the Player
Real Madrid and manager Xabi Alonso are reportedly willing to sanction Rodrygo’s departure. However, the forward has given little indication he wishes to leave, preferring to fight for his place. Earlier in the window, interest from PSG, Liverpool, and Tottenham faded for various reasons, while Arsenal’s activity was contingent on sales.
If Guardiola can persuade Rodrygo to change his stance, City could finally provide Madrid with a credible buyer, and Arsenal with an unwelcome twist in their summer plans.
