Mahindra XEV 9S seven-seater electric SUV will debut on November 27 in Bangalore and it will be based on the INGLO platform
Mahindra has dropped the first official teaser of its upcoming electric SUV, the XEV 9S, offering a glimpse of what’s to come ahead of its world premiere on November 27 at the brand’s ‘Scream Electric’ event in Bengaluru. The teaser reveals some key design cues including prominent LED signatures at both ends, a sleek full-width light bar, the Twin Peaks logo and XEV 9S lettering across the tailgate.
The XEV 9S is a three-row electric SUV that will sit at the top of Mahindra’s seven-seater portfolio. What makes it particularly significant is that it’s the brand’s first ground-up, born-electric 7-seater built on the new INGLO skateboard platform. Mahindra says the architecture allows for a low centre of gravity, contributing to better ride and handling.
The flat battery layout also frees up ample space inside allowing the cabin to feel open and spacious even with three rows in place. Expect clever interior solutions such as a sliding second row and adjustable seating layouts. Visually, the XEV 9S borrows its design philosophy from the XUV.e8 and BE.05 concepts that were showcased three years ago.

The SUV also features a panoramic sunroof and is expected to adopt several premium touches. While official details remain under wraps, it could be offered in both six- and seven-seat configurations. Two battery pack options are likely to be available – shared with the XEV 9e and BE 6 – with an expected driving range of over 500 km on a single charge.
Charging capabilities will include DC fast charging and bidirectional functionality allowing the vehicle to feed power back to the grid or external devices. Inside, it will get a triple-screen layout, ventilated and powered seats, panoramic roof, Level 2 ADAS, multi-zone climate control.

Mahindra has recently been updating its existing ICE portfolio as both the three-door Thar and the Bolero range received notable updates. The launch of the XEV 9S will be followed by a host of new models next year including the XUV 700 facelift and the more rugged version of BE 6.
