Domestic tractor sales of Mahindra reached 64,946 units in September 2025 with a massive 50 per cent increase on a YoY basis
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Business (FEB) has delivered its strongest September performance yet with domestic tractor sales reaching 64,946 units in September 2025 – a massive 50 per cent increase compared to 43,201 units sold in the same month last year. The growth was led by GST 2.0 implementation, festive demand and favourable rural business.
Total sales including exports climbed to 66,111 units last month as against 44,256 units a year earlier – recording an overall jump of 49 per cent. Out of this tally, exports accounted for 1,165 units – slightly ahead of the 1,055 units shipped during the corresponding period last year with a modest 10 per cent rise in overseas markets.
One of the key triggers behind this surge was the GST 2.0 revision announced by the government. According to company officials, the reduction in tax rates translated into immediate benefits for buyers with tractor demand doubling during the first nine days of Navratri this year. The advancement of the festival season into September, compared to October in 2024, further accelerated sales momentum.

Year-to-date figures also indicate Mahindra’s position in the farm sector. Between April and September 2025, the company sold 2,47,336 units domestically, a growth of 20 per cent from 2,06,236 units in the corresponding period of FY25. Exports during the same six-month stretch rose to 9,689 units – up 12 per cent from last year’s 8,613 units with the overall total at 2,57,025 units and a 20 per cent jump.

With both policy support and agricultural fundamentals working in its favour, Mahindra FEB appears well placed to carry forward this momentum into the festive quarter. Commenting on the sales performance, Veejay Nakra, President – Farm Equipment Business, said:
“We have sold 64,946 tractors in the domestic market during September, a growth of 50% over last year. Honourable Prime Minister’s decision on the GST rate cut, has increased offtake in the first 9 days of Navratri which is in the month of September this year compared to October last year. This has been further supported by factors like a positive Kharif outlook, increase in the area sown this season and an above-normal monsoon.”
