IND Vs AUS: Social media has reacted to the Indian Cricket Team’s batting collapse in the ongoing second T20I against Australia, Gautam Gambhir’s bizarre changes to the batting order, and how Abhishek Sharma, almost singlehandedly, has been keeping the team in the game.

The second of five India vs Australia T20I matches is currently being played at the iconic MCG in Melbourne, Australia. Like much of the rest of this tour, the home side won the toss and decided to bowl first.

In just five overs, India’s score was 32/4. Then, by the eighth, Axar Patel has gotten out too for seven off 12. At this point, another baffling decision was taken by team head coach Gautam Gambhir, which was to send in Harshit Rana to bat before Shivam Dube.

It was Josh Hazelwood who tore the Indian batting order apart, bowling a four-over spell of 3/13.

There were a few things to cherish here, like how Abhishek scored a half-century with a strike rate of around 200, and even Harshit Rana showed some resilient batting, making 35 off 33 before getting out.

Most fans have been complaining about Gambhir’s decision to send in Harshit Rana to bat before Shivam Dube. People are also complaining about the fact that Shubman Gill is in this squad ahead of the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal –

Gambhir sent Harshit Rana before Shivam Dube just to prove his decision (choosing Rana over Arshdeep singh) right and ended up wasting 33 balls. If Dube had gotten that much time to settle in, he would’ve definitely scored more runs than Rana did in those 33 balls.
