When asked about travel recommendations, Kajol didn’t immediately go international. Instead, she turned our attention to the incredible places we have within India. Her top pick? Rishikesh.
“I think in our own country, there are so many things to do. There are so many places. I feel everyone should go to Rishikesh. I love the vibe and energy in Rishikesh, you feel a lot of people have meditated here. There’s a vibe to the mountains when you reach Rishikesh that is amazing.”

“I would say Kolkata for sure. I love Kolkata, I love the food, the people, the speed of the city. When you step into Mumbai, it feels like your pulse picks up, your breath gets faster, your heartbeat picks up. But when you go to Kolkata, there is a certain ease to the city. There’s a certain ease to the people there. There’s a slowness to life there, which is lovely. And the food is really amazing.”
For Kajol, Mumbai is all hustle and high energy. That’s no surprise since it’s the heart of Bollywood. But Kolkata holds a special charm. She appreciates the calmness, the laid-back lifestyle, and of course, the delicious food. It’s a reminder that sometimes, slowing down is the real luxury.

Kajol also shared that she hasn’t yet had the chance to visit India’s North-Eastern states, but it’s definitely on her wishlist. And when she spoke about Ladakh, it was clear how deeply the place moved her.
“I love Ladakh. I thought Ladakh was a spiritual experience. It’s beautiful. There’s a lovely history behind Ladakh as well.”
Kajol also gave a nod to the Pink City, Jaipur, as a great travel destination. From the spiritual pull of Rishikesh and Ladakh to the comforting calm of Kolkata, her choices prove that you don’t always need to travel far to discover beauty.
