But before we start predicting War 2’s box office blast, let’s take a nostalgic stroll through the opening collections of the other films in YRF’s mighty Spy Universe.
- Ek Tha Tiger (2012): The Salman Khan–Katrina Kaif starrer kicked off the universe with a bang, earning ₹32.93 crore on Day 1. Directed by Kabir Khan, it set the tone for sleek, crowd-pleasing action.
- Tiger Zinda Hai (2017): The sequel levelled up with Ali Abbas Zafar behind the camera. Day 1 collection? A roaring ₹34.10 crore.
- War (2019): The first showdown between Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff broke the sound barrier with an insane ₹51.60 crore opening. Directed by Siddharth Anand, it was pure action eye candy.
- Pathaan (2023): Shah Rukh Khan’s grand return to action films (alongside Deepika Padukone and John Abraham) was nothing short of historic. It opened at ₹55 crore, rewriting box office rules.
