Tata Sierra EV will be launched before the end of this FY while the ICE version will follow it up, powered by a 1.5L petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine
The production-spec Tata Sierra was finally showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 – announcing the return of the iconic nameplate. Over the past several months, camouflaged prototypes have ensured the SUV remains in the spotlight as road tests progress across India. Tata plans to introduce the Sierra EV first with its launch expected ahead of the ICE-powered petrol and diesel versions in early 2026.
The Tata Sierra gets a wide horizontal grille, sharp headlamp units and a connected LED light bar upfront – set off by large bumper cutouts. At the back, the SUV carries an upright stance with a slim tail lamp strip, sporty spoiler and a sculpted bumper. The blacked-out roof goes well with the panoramic sunroof – giving the SUV a unique floating roof finish.
With its stretched wheelbase, steeply raked windshield and tall pillars, the midsize SUV’s interior will more likely offer a spacious feel. On the outside, muscular wheel arches and flush-style door handles add to the modernity. While the EV and ICE versions will share most of their design cues, subtle styling tweaks will set them apart.

Tata will likely position the new Sierra slightly above the Curvv with prices expected to fall between Rs. 13 lakh and Rs. 25 lakh (ex-showroom). The electric variant will pack modern charging capabilities – offering DC fast charging along with bidirectional technology such as Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) power transfer.
In the ICE range, the upcoming Tata Sierra is expected to feature a brand new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine producing 168 PS and 280 Nm and the proven 2.0-litre diesel rated at 170 PS and 350 Nm. Buyers can expect both six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearboxes to be on offer while drive and terrain modes will also be offered.

While Tata has not officially revealed if the Sierra EV will inherit the Harrier EV’s dual-motor layout and lifetime battery warranty, these are widely speculated to be part of the package. The electric SUV is also expected to deliver a range of over 500 km.
Inside the cabin, buyers can look forward to a tech-packed setup featuring a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an extra 12.3-inch display angled towards the driver along with a 360-degree camera system, a four-spoke steering wheel, Level 2 ADAS suite, powered and ventilated seats and so on.
