Here is a complete list of all the upcoming new-gen SUVs launching in the Indian market in the coming 15-18 months
Most of the popular SUV models have been on sale for quite a long time in the Indian market. Due to rising competition, the leading automakers in India are readying the new-gen versions of several SUVs, which are slated to launch in the country in the coming 15-18 months. We will see at least six famous new-gen SUVs launching in the domestic market in 2025-26. Hence, in this piece, we have compiled all the upcoming new-gen cars in India.
1. New-Gen Hyundai Venue
The new-gen Hyundai Venue will launch on Oct 24, 2025 in the Indian market. The latest iteration of the compact SUV will come with significant cosmetic overhaul while getting several premium features, including Level 2 ADAS. The cabin theme, dashboard and seats will be shared with the Creta and Alcazar. The new-gen Venue will be powered by the same 1.2L and 1.0L petrol engines while the diesel variants will continue to carry the 1.5L CRDi powertrain.

2. New-Gen Kia Seltos
The new-gen Seltos is likely to have its world premiere in Nov 2025 while going on sale early next year in the Indian market. Reportedly, it will be bigger and more spacious than the ongoing version while equipped with multiple never-seen-before features. The new SUV will boast of substantial styling updates at the front as well as rear. Mechanically, the new-gen Kia Seltos will retain the current crop of petrol and diesel engine, while a strong hybrid powertrain will debut at a later stage.
3. New-Gen Hyundai Creta
Internally codenamed as SX3, the new-gen Hyundai Creta is likely to break cover in 2027. It is rumoured to be the first Hyundai model to come with strong hybrid tech apart from the standard petrol and diesel versions. The new-gen Creta will share the strong hybrid setup with the new-gen Seltos which will launch a year before in the Indian market. The production of the new-gen Creta could be shifted from the Chennai facility to the recently acquired Talegaon factory in Maharashtra.

4. New-Gen Renault Duster
The new-gen Duster will be Renault’s answer to the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos as it makes a much-awaited comeback in early 2026 in the Indian market. Apart from the regular petrol variants equipped with the 1.3L turbocharged engine, it is also speculated to get a strong hybrid powertrain. Underpinning the CMF-B platform, the new-gen Renault Duster has already been spotted multiple times on the Indian roads during its test runs. Though the global-spec model comes with an AWD system, it is not confirmed whether the India-bound version will be offered with it.
5. New-Gen Tata Nexon
Codenamed as Garud, the new-gen Nexon will be underpinned by the heavily restructured version of the X1 architecture. The new-gen model of the SUV is under development and sources have revealed that it will be rolled out in 2027 with radical design updates, taking cues from the latest Tata cars. The new SUV will be offered in petrol and CNG fuel trims. However, it is not certain yet whether the existing 1.5L diesel engine will be updated to meet the upcoming BS7 emission norms due to high operational costs.
6. New-Gen Toyota Fortuner
The new-gen Toyota Fortuner is being readied for a potential launch in the second half of 2026 in India. Needless to state, it will get a fresh design which will be inspired by the global version of the Hilux pick-up truck. The interior will be more premium than before with the addition of modern features such as Heads-up Display (HUD), ADAS tech and Ventilated seats. Mechanically, the SUV is expected to remain unchanged with the same petrol and diesel engines alongside the 48V Neo Drive hybrid variants.
