The Skoda Volkswagen India 2.0 cars, including Kushaq, Taigun, Slavia and Virtus, will get their first mid-life facelift update next year
Skoda and Volkswagen have managed to gain some ground in the Indian market, thanks to their India 2.0 program cars. However, the competition has grown in the respective segments with the launch of new models and a facelift for their existing mass-market models like Kushaq, Taigun, Virtus and Slavia, which is the need of the hour. In this article, we will look at the upcoming Skoda Volkswagen cars in India.
1. Skoda Kushaq Facelift
Expected to launch in early 2026, the Skoda Kushaq has been spotted testing multiple times in India. In terms of design, it will sport a revised front fascia with a new grille, a fresh set of LED headlamps and new alloy wheels, along with new bumpers and an overhauled rear section.
The interiors will also see minor revisions, and the updated SUV will see the addition of equipment like a 360-degree parking camera, panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, electronic parking brake and more. Under the hood, the Kushaq facelift will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engines.

2. Volkswagen Taigun Facelift
The test prototype of the updated Taigun was recently spotted for the first time in India. It is expected to be launched around the same timeline as the Kushaq facelift, most likely in early 2026. The Taigun facelift will likely feature some changes to the exterior design, like a new set of headlamps, revised bumpers, a reworked grille, and a fresh set of alloy wheels.
On the inside, the SUV will get minor changes to the dashboard layout, and we expect new feature inclusions, such as Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree parking camera and more. The Volkswagen Taigun facelift will retain the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.0-litre TSI EVO petrol engines.
3. Volkswagen Tayron
The Tayron has been long due in the Indian market, and it is expected to debut around the festive season. It is essentially the 7-seater version of the current Tiguan, and Volkswagen will be selling it here via the CBU route. Based on the brand’s MQB EVO platform, the India-spec Tayron will most likely use the familiar 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, putting out 204 bhp and 320 Nm of peak torque. It will be mated to a 7-speed DSG gearbox with AWD as standard. We expect the Tayron to be priced at around Rs. 50 lakh (ex-showroom).

4. Skoda Slavia Facelift
The Skoda Slavia will likely get a mid-life facelift update sometime next year, i.e. 2026. The sedan is expected to get cosmetic updates, along with new feature additions. A refreshed exterior design, similar to the brand’s latest Octavia and Superb, will be a part of the package.
Expect the Slavia facelift to get a tweaked cabin layout, along with new features like ADAS, a 360-degree parking camera and a larger infotainment system. The powertrain department will continue to be handled by the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI EVO engines.
5. Volkswagen Virtus Facelift
Volkswagen is working on the facelift model of the Virtus sedan, and it is expected to debut next year. The mid-life update of the mid-size sedan will likely feature major sheet metal changes, resulting in a new design for the front fascia as well as the rear profile.
In addition to this, a new set of alloy wheels and minor tweaks to the cabin layout are also expected, along with new feature additions such as ADAS. Under the hood, the familiar 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI EVO engines will continue to power the Virtus.
