Here we have explained about the possible new compact SUVs from Hyundai and Kia over the next 12 to 18 months

In the coming 12 to 18 months, Hyundai and Kia are set to strengthen their footprint in India with a slew of new launches spread across different segments. The compact SUV space, in particular, will witness plenty of activity as the Korean duo are reportedly readying at least three new models to take on intensifying competition and here is a quick look at what is possibly in store:

1. Kia Syros Electric:

Kia has been steadily expanding its portfolio in India. Only a few months ago, the Syros arrived in its IC-engined form followed soon after by the introduction of the Carens Clavis ICE and the all-electric Clavis EV. Now, attention is shifting back to the Syros, as reports suggest that an electric derivative is under development.

Expected to debut locally sometime next year, the Kia Syros EV will more likely mirror the practicality and spacious nature of its ICE sibling while bringing the benefits of zero-emission driving. It could be offered with two battery options with the claimed driving range going well over 450 km between charges.

2. New Hyundai Venue:

Hyundai is preparing the all-new generation of the Venue with a launch lined up for this festive season. Multiple test mules have already been caught on roads – offering a sneak peek into the changes. The compact SUV will draw inspiration from the latest Creta and Alcazar – adopting Hyundai’s renewed design language.

Expect a redesigned front fascia, a reworked rear section and an all-new set of alloy wheels to headline the visual updates. The interior will receive big updates as well as features such as Level 2 ADAS technology and a panoramic sunroof could be offered but no powertrain and transmission changes are likely.

3. Hyundai Inster EV:

Hyundai is working on strengthening its EV lineup in India with a compact all-electric SUV which could take cues from the Inster Electric sold globally. Slated for launch in 2026, the SUV is expected to come with two battery configurations while aiming for a range of over 450 km per charge and it could have a lot in common with the localised Creta Electric.

The upcoming Hyundai compact EV is expected to rival models like the Tata Punch EV. On the inside, it could be loaded with equipment including a large touchscreen infotainment unit, a fully digital instrument cluster, standard six airbags, a sunroof, wireless smartphone charging, ADAS suite and plenty more.
