Here we have listed the 3 new midsize SUVs waiting to launch in India over the next six to nine months

The battleground of midsize SUVs is gearing up for a major shake up in the coming years. With the segment continuing to draw strong customer interest, carmakers are lining up a new contenders aimed at the long-standing benchmark – the Hyundai Creta which has ruled this space for nearly a decade.

The segment will see new models from Tata Motors, Kia and Renault. Tata will strengthen its lineup with the production-spec Sierra positioned alongside the Curvv while Renault is preparing to make a comeback with the all-new Duster – the SUV that once kick started India’s midsize SUV movement and defined the segment’s early years.

Kia, too, is expected to join the fray with the new-gen Seltos and here we have explained about all three upcoming offerings:

1. Tata Sierra:

In the first half of next year, Tata Motors is set to bring back the iconic Sierra nameplate in an all-new electric avatar. The SUV will debut as an EV with two battery pack options on offer. Following the electric version, Tata plans to introduce the ICE variant – powered by a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and the familiar 2.0-litre diesel mill.

2. New Kia Seltos:

The next-generation Kia Seltos, which has been caught on test several times in recent months, is inching closer to launch and is expected to arrive at dealerships in the first half of 2026. The upcoming model will sport a comprehensive design overhaul featuring reworked bumpers, new headlamp and DRL setups, new alloy designs and updated tail-lamp graphics. Kia is preparing to introduce a more modern and feature-rich cabin.

3. New Gen Renault Duster:

The return of the Duster nameplate will happen early next year and it will be based on the latest global Duster. To be underpinned by the heavily localised CMF-B architecture and it will give rise to a Nissan sibling as well. Expected to be powered by two petrol engines at least initially, a hybrid mill could join the lineup at a later part of its lifecycle. It will spawn a seven-seater iteration in FY27.
