2025 Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition gets cosmetic updates and feature inclusions; available in a total of four exterior paint schemes

Toyota Kirloskar Motor has brought in the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition as part of luring in customers during this festive season. Following the success of last year’s iteration, the new model gets a host of updates. It wears a noticeably sportier look, courtesy of a redesigned grille, front and rear bumper spoilers along with subtle chrome accents.

A dual-tone black roof enhances the contrast appeal while glossy black alloys and a hood emblem are also present. Customers have the option to choose between four paint finishes namely Attitude Black, Super White, Pearl White and Silver and all of which are available in both 4×2 manual and automatic variant levels.

On the inside, the updates continue with a black and maroon dual-tone theme for the seats and door trims. Toyota has also added convenience-based upgrades such as auto-folding mirrors and illuminated scuff plates while safety sees an improvement thanks to the inclusion of a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

Besides these inclusion, no other changes have been made. Powering the new Fortuner Leader Edition is Toyota’s 1GD-FTV 2.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine – featuring a Variable Geometry Turbocharger. It is good enough to churn out a maximum power output of 201 bhp and up to 500 Nm of peak torque.

Customers can opt for either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox and the SUV continues with its rear-wheel-drive (4×2) setup. The new Fortuner Leader Edition comes with a range of flexible finance schemes including up to 8-year plans with low EMIs, and pre-approved add-ons such as extended warranties and Toyota Genuine Accessories.

Since its Indian debut 15 years ago, the Fortuner has earned its reputation as the country’s most dependable full-size SUV and over 3 lakh units have already been sold. Bookings for the 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition will officially open in the second week of October 2025 and interested customers can reserve their SUV online or visit the authorised Toyota dealerships.

Speaking on the new launch, Varinder Wadhwa, Vice President, Sales-Service-Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor said, “At Toyota, our customers’ evolving lifestyle preferences inspire us to continually refresh and enhance our offerings. We are grateful for the strong acceptance and overwhelming response to the 2024 Fortuner Leader Edition, which has further strengthened the SUV’s legacy as an icon on Indian roads.”
