Yamaha has reduced prices of the R15, MT15, FZ-S, FZ-X, Aerox 155, RayZR and Fascino in India as part of GST tax slab relaxation

India Yamaha Motor has officially announced that it will pass on the complete benefits of the revised GST structure to its customers – bringing substantial price cuts across its two-wheeler range. The change takes effect on September 22, 2025 in line with the implementation of GST 2.0 reforms across the industry.

The government’s decision to slash GST on motorcycles and scooters up to 350 cc from 28 per cent to 18 per cent marks a turning point for India’s two-wheeler market where affordability is a key driver of demand. The Yamaha portfolio, which spans sporty commuters, premium scooters and performance bikes under the 350cc bracket – stands to gain massively from this tax revision.

With effective reductions ranging between Rs. 7,759 and Rs. 17,581, customers now have the chance to purchase models like the R15, MT15, Aerox 155 and Fascino at more attractive prices. Among the biggest beneficiaries of this change is the Yamaha R15, a popular choice among young riders which now costs Rs. 1,94,439 after a GST-driven benefit of Rs. 17,581.

The MT15, another performance-oriented motorcycle, gets a price cut of Rs. 14,964. Even scooters like the Fascino and RayZR now see savings of Rs. 8,509 and Rs. 7,759 respectively. The implementation of GST 2.0 has been widely hailed by the auto industry as a much-needed reform. For two-wheelers, the move is particularly significant because nearly 98 per cent of India’s motorcycle and scooter buyers fall under the sub-350 cc segment.

By cutting the GST rate by 10 percentage points and eliminating the cascading impact of higher taxes, the government has simplified the tax structure and boosted affordability in one of the most price-sensitive markets in the world. Looking ahead, the combination of reduced prices and festive offers from dealers could create a sales surge.

While premium big bikes above 350 cc now fall into the higher 40 per cent GST slab, Yamaha’s core range is unaffected. With customer sentiment expected to be buoyant, Yamaha’s GST 2.0 price cuts may well help the brand secure stronger volumes in the closing quarter of 2025. Commenting on the announcement, Itaru Otani, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group said,

“We would like to thank the Government of India for the timely reduction in GST on two-wheelers. This step will provide a strong boost to the two-wheeler demand during the festive season. By making two-wheelers more affordable, it will not only benefit customers directly but also stimulate overall consumption and create positive momentum for the industry.”
