VinFast to expand its product line-up in India from two to five models in quick succession, possibly in a little over a year after its arrival
VinFast entered India with not one but two models – the VF 6 and VF 7, and it will continue being offensive on the product side in the near future. The company plans to launch an electric MPV soon and will follow up with two new electric SUVs.
Next month, VinFast is likely to launch the Limo Green, its pure electric MPV, which is already on sale in its home market, Vietnam. At 4,740 mm long, 1,872 mm wide, and 1,729 mm tall, it is bigger than the BYD eMax 7 and closer to the Toyota Innova Crysta. It has a 2,840 mm wheelbase and accommodates seven people.
The Limo Green has a single motor producing 150 kW (201 bhp) and 280 Nm of torque, which powers the front wheels. A 60.13 kWh LFP battery pack, which supports charging at up to 6.9 kW (AC)/80 kW (DC), powers this motor. It delivers a range of 450 kilometres, as per NEDC. Currently, VinFast offers it only in a commercial version in Vietnam, but in India, it will provide a new version targeted at individual customers, equipped with additional features.

VinFast’s second launch this year will be the VF 5, which will compete with the Tata Nexon.ev and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV. The small SUV is 3,957 mm long, 1,723 mm wide, and 1,579 mm tall and has a 2,514 mm wheelbase.
Depending on the market, VinFast offers it with either a 70 kW (94 bhp)/135 Nm front motor and a 29.6 kWh LFP battery pack or a 100 kW (134 bhp)/135 Nm front motor and a 37.23 kWh LFP battery pack. The former delivers a range of 268 kilometres and the latter 326 kilometres, both as per NEDC.

While the Limo Green is likely to arrive in knocked-down kits from Vietnam, the VF 5 could be heavily localised. The third model will be the VF 3, an SUV-styled microcar, which is almost certain to be manufactured in India.
The VF 3 measures 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,652 mm in height and has a 2,075 mm wheelbase. It’s a two-door model with seats for four people and will likely compete with the MG Comet EV. It features a rear-mounted motor that produces 30 kW (40 bhp) and 110 Nm of torque and an 18.64 kWh LFP battery pack. According to NEDC, it can travel up to 215 kilometres on a single charge.
