VECV and Jio-bp Partner to Power India’s Electric Commercial Vehicle Future

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a joint venture between Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, has announced a strategic partnership with Jio-bp pulse to significantly enhance India’s EV charging ecosystem. The collaboration is aimed at accelerating the adoption of electric commercial vehicles by giving Eicher EV customers seamless access to 6,000+ DC fast-charging points across India.

One of the biggest hurdles in the widespread adoption of electric trucks and buses has been the lack of reliable charging infrastructure. This partnership directly addresses that challenge by integrating Jio-bp’s extensive charging network into VECV’s operations.

Through this first-of-its-kind integration, Eicher EV fleet operators will be able to view and access Jio-bp chargers directly via the My Eicher fleet management app. The app will provide real-time visibility of charger locations, availability, and operating status, ensuring smooth and efficient operations for trucking and bus fleets nationwide.

Beyond on-road charging, the two companies are also exploring depot-level charging and custom infrastructure projects for large fleet operators. Such tailored solutions will allow logistics companies to build charging hubs at depots, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.

This development comes at a time when India is rapidly expanding its EV ecosystem. VECV brings advanced EV technology and a strong product portfolio, while Jio-bp has committed over ₹1,000 crore to EV infrastructure development. Together, the partnership represents a major milestone in creating an end-to-end clean mobility ecosystem.

The collaboration not only supports India’s growing demand for zero-emission logistics but also aligns with the Government’s clean energy and sustainable mobility vision. With highways and urban centers expected to witness a surge in electric freight and passenger transport, this move is set to scale up EV adoption across India.

Speaking about the partnership, VECV representatives emphasized that integrating charging visibility into fleet management solutions is critical for building customer confidence in EVs. Jio-bp officials highlighted the importance of public-private collaborations to accelerate the transition to green transport.

As India prepares for a future driven by sustainable mobility, the VECV–Jio-bp partnership marks a turning point in enabling large-scale electrification of commercial fleets. By combining strong vehicle technology with a robust charging network, the initiative is poised to redefine the landscape of electric trucking and bus operations in the country.
