2026 Maruti Brezza

2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is expected to get minor cosmetic updates while the powertrain options will likely remain the same

Maruti Suzuki’s compact SUV is heading for a mid-cycle refresh and the first proper glimpse of its front face has now surfaced online. A heavily camouflaged test car was seen running on public roads and although most body panels were hidden, the revised fascia could still be made out. From what’s visible so far, this doesn’t look like a radical redesign but possibly a subtle update.

What has really sparked attention, however, is not the design but what’s happening underneath. The same test vehicle was earlier spotted with a CNG sticker on the rear windshield. It appears to use an underfloor CNG tank layout instead of the boot-mounted setup we are used to. If this turns out to be true for the production model, it would free up luggage space – a long-standing issue with factory-fitted CNG cars.

Maruti Suzuki had earlier pioneered this concept with the Brezza’s sibling, the Victoris and this could now become a major USP for the updated version. In terms of styling, the Brezza is expected to retain its familiar profile and glasshouse – indicating no major changes to the basic sheet metal. The rear might get slightly tweaked tail lamps while the alloy wheels on the test mule appear similar to the current model.

Other visible elements include a shark-fin antenna and a roof-mounted spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp. There’s also growing chatter around the possibility of the 2026 Brezza receiving Level 2 ADAS. Although none of the sensors were clearly visible on the spied test mule, the rumours suggest features like adaptive cruise control.

If confirmed, this would help the Brezza stay competitive as more rivals now offer advanced driver assistance systems. On the mechanical side, Maruti Suzuki isn’t expected to change the fundamentals. The 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine should continue producing 102 bhp and 137 Nm. The CNG version is expected to retain its current output of 87 bhp and 121.5 Nm.

Transmission options will likely remain unchanged too with a manual gearbox for both fuel types and a 6-speed torque converter automatic for the petrol variant. Earlier in 2025, the Brezza was updated with six airbags as standard along with additional safety upgrades. It will continues to be based on the Global C platform.
