2026 Jeep Meridian gets sliding second-row seats on select variants namely Limited and Overland
Jeep India has introduced the updated 2026 Meridian in the Indian market with a practical enhancement for its three-row layout. The latest model year update brings sliding second-row seats on select variants. Prices start at Rs. 30.01 lakh (ex-showroom) for the SUV which competes with Toyota Fortuner and Skoda Kodiaq along with the MG Gloster and VW Tayron that are arriving soon.
The most notable change for 2026 is the addition of sliding second-row seats on the Limited and Overland trims. The new seating setup allows longitudinal movement of up to 140 mm giving owners the flexibility to either improve legroom for second- and third-row occupants or free up additional luggage space and there is more to it.
The 40:60 split second row offers sliding travel of up to 310 mm for the smaller section and 290 mm for the larger section along with a forward tilt of 33 degrees to make access to the third row more convenient. The second row now provides a 23-degree torso angle with an additional 12-degree recline – created to offer better support while meeting safety requirements.
Despite these updates, the overall design and cabin layout remain familiar. The 2026 Meridian continues with Jeep’s signature styling elements such as the seven-slot grille and LED lighting enabling commanding road presence. Stepping on the inside, the SUV retains its premium appeal with soft-touch materials.
The equipment list comprises a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats and leatherette upholstery. On the technology front, the Meridian continues to offer a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Jeep’s Uconnect connected car platform supports over 30 connected features including remote functions and real-time vehicle diagnostics.
The 2026 Jeep Meridian also offers more than 70 active and passive safety features. Select variants are equipped with advanced driver assistance systems. Mechanically, the 2026 Jeep Meridian remains unchanged. It is powered by the same 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 170 hp maximum power and 350 Nm of peak torque.
The engine is available with Jeep’s Select-Terrain 4×4 system on applicable variants and it comes with an ARAI-rated fuel economy of up to 16.25 kmpl. The updated 2026 Jeep Meridian with sliding second-row seats is now available across Jeep dealerships in India. While the refreshed variants are priced from Rs. 30.01 lakh, the overall Meridian lineup continues to start at Rs. 23.33 lakh (ex-showroom) and bookings are currently open.
