Maruti Suzuki will more likely bring in as many as four new SUVs within the next 24 months in India
Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for one of its most aggressive product offensives in recent times. After witnessing demand across its current lineup, the carmaker is now turning its focus toward an expanded range of utility vehicles. With multiple new SUVs already in the works, Maruti is clearly acknowledging the segment’s growing influence.
The brand is preparing to establish a presence in every major SUV category with four significant models reportedly under development. Here is a closer look at what is taking shape:
1. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara:
Maruti Suzuki is on the verge of introducing its first EV, the e Vitara, which is slated to hit Nexa showrooms in December. Built on the dedicated Heartect e platform, the e Vitara is expected to combine modern features with high safety standards. It has already gone on sale in several international markets and is being shipped from SMC’s Gujarat plant.

The e Vitara is set to come with two battery options – both supporting fast charging with the larger pack expected to offer a certified range of over 500 km on a single charge. Inside, the SUV will feature a host of modern amenities including a large touchscreen infotainment system, a panoramic sunroof, a fully digital instrument cluster, Level 2 ADAS capabilities and so on.
2. 7-Seater Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara:

Maruti Suzuki is said to be considering a three-row variant of the Grand Vitara. It could offer a more premium and spacious alternative – positioning itself against established competitors such as the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari. If approved, the larger Grand Vitara could make its debut within the next couple of years.

Maruti Suzuki is reportedly developing a brand new micro SUV which is expected to launch between late 2026 and early 2027. Slotted below the Brezza, it will compete directly with popular rivals such as the Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter in the fiercely contested entry-level SUV segment. One of its standout features could be Maruti’s next-generation in-house hybrid powertrain.
4. Maruti Suzuki Fronx Hybrid:

Maruti Suzuki could be preparing a hybrid version of the Fronx. The system is expected to borrow from the Smart Hybrid setup seen on the export-spec Dzire. A host of other hybrid models are also said to be in the works.
