TVS Tangent RR Concept has been shown alongside a host of design studies and it could preview a future 450 cc parallel-twin fully-faired supersport

TVS Motor Company seems ready to move into an all-new displacement class judging by the showcase of the striking Tangent RR Concept which made its global debut at EICMA 2025 in Milan yesterday. The fully-faired prototype hints at the brand’s next performance chapter and it could lead to a production-spec twin-cylinder sportsbike positioned above the Apache RR 310.

The Tangent RR gets an aggressive design philosophy that’s unapologetically track-focused. It features low-set clip-ons, aerodynamic winglets and a sharp tail section flowing out of a sculpted fuel tank. A closer look at the show bike reveals premium components – USD front forks, a radial brake setup with Brembo callipers and a lightweight aluminium swingarm.

Even the monocoque-style rear subframe appears production ready suggesting that TVS may not treat this as just a design study. Powering the Tangent RR in its eventual road-going form will likely be TVS’ all-new 450 cc parallel-twin engine co-developed with BMW Motorrad. This new motor is expected to deliver close to 47–48 PS and around 45 Nm of torque – offering a significant jump from the RR 310’s single-cylinder unit.

The twin-cylinder platform could underpin multiple models across TVS, BMW and Norton. The motoring show also saw the debut of BMW’s F 450 GS which is all set to launch in India next year. For TVS, the move into twin-cylinder territory could be the logical progression as the supersport category sees new arrivals powered by a twin engine more often than not in recent years.

The company has already built credibility in the premium segment through the Apache RR 310 and its involvement in one-make racing. The Tangent RR Concept suggests that the production bike – expected to be called the Apache RR 450 – could push the brand into new performance territory to take on the likes of Aprilia RS 457 and Kawasaki Ninja 500.

The possible supersport could feature multiple ride modes, traction control and a TFT display with navigation and telemetry data. The chassis, if it mirrors the concept’s proportions, should offer agility and high-speed stability. It could adopt learnings from Norton’s premium as well. Expect a kerb weight around the 175–180 kg mark – light enough to make the most of its twin’s power.
