TVS recorded 5,09,536 units in August 2025 as against 3,91,588 units with a YoY surge of 30 per cent overall

TVS Motor Company has achieved a new milestone by crossing the five lakh unit sales mark in monthly sales for the first time. The company sold 5,09,536 units in August 2025 – denoting a 30 per cent YoY growth compared to 3,91,588 units sold during the same month last year. The numbers have resulted in the highest-ever monthly sales for the brand.

The two wheeler segment was the biggest contributor as you might expect with sales climbing from 3,78,841 units in August 2024 to 4,90,788 units last month leading to a growth of 30 per cent. Meanwhile, domestic two-wheeler volumes rose 28 per cent – up from 289,073 units to 368,862 units year-on-year.

In addition, motorcycles alone accounted for 2,21,870 units resulting in a 30 per cent rise from the previous year while scooters registered even stronger growth at 36 per cent with total sales of 222,296 units. The Hosur-based company has been recording good sales numbers for its Apache series as well as Jupiter and Raider 125.

On the electric mobility front, TVS sold 25,138 EVs in August 2025 – a modest increase over 24,779 units in the same month last year. The company noted that while growth continues, challenges around magnet availability remain a concern in the near to medium term. Despite this, the segment remains an important pillar in TVS’s long-term strategy.

Thus, it introduced a brand new sub Rs. 1 lakh electric scooter in the form of the Orbiter a few days ago. With overseas shipments growing 35 per cent to 1,35,367 units compared to 99,976 units during the same period last year, it has been another major contributor. Out of this, two-wheeler exports surged 36 per cent – moving up from 89,768 units to 121,926 units.

The sales of three wheelers also made significant gains with volumes rising by 47 per cent to 18,748 units in August 2025 – up from 12,747 units a year earlier. The record-breaking sales in August underscores TVS’ balanced growth across motorcycles, scooters, electric vehicles and three-wheelers, with international markets complementing domestic demand.

The coming months, particularly the festive season, are likely to be crucial in sustaining this momentum as new launches are waiting in the pipeline.
