TVS M1-S boasts a claimed range of 150 km per charge and is nothing but the rebadged version of the Ion M1-S
In early 2023, TVS Motor Company announced its partnership with ION Mobility – an EV startup hailing from Singapore targetting the growing electric two-wheeler segment in markets including Indonesia. Fast forward to just over two years, TVS has released the first teaser of what looks like a sporty maxi-style scooter for Indonesia ahead of its launch.
Set to be unveiled soon, the teaser indicates that the TVS M1-S is nothing but the rebadged version of the Ion M1-S and its specifications will likely remain unchanged too. With a claimed range of 150 km on a single charge, the M1-S is suitable for daily city use and occasional longer rides, and it offers 26 litres of under-seat storage.
It also boasts a seven-inch colour display with connectivity options, ride modes, reverse mode, twin LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and keyless operation for added ease. Under the skin, the M1-S packs a powerful electric motor that delivers a peak output of 12.5 kW and 45 Nm of torque. It enables the scooter to sprint from 0 to 50 kmph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 kmph.

The battery options range from 3.5 kWh to 5.5 kWh and the 4.3 kWh version offers a balance between performance and charging time – requiring under three hours for a full charge. It uses a 72V lithium-ion NMC battery with on-board charging via a regular two-pin wall plug. The scooter rides on 14-inch wheels with wide 110/70 front and 120/70 rear tyres for stability.
Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers at the rear with preload adjustability. Braking performance comes from disc brakes at both ends with Combi Brake System. Weighing 152 kg, the TVS M1-S maintains decent ground clearance at 155 mm. Dimensionally, the e-scooter measures 1,960 mm in length with a 1,350 mm wheelbase, a comfortable 765 mm seat height and a width of 730 mm excluding mirrors.
