At a starting price of Rs. 1.99 lakh, the all-new TVS Apache RTX is the most feature-loaded bike in its segment

TVS Motor Company recently launched the Apache RTX in the Indian market. With an aggressive price of Rs. 1.99 lakh to Rs. 2.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the ADV offers a slew of segment-first features. In this article, we will look at the top features of the TVS Apache RTX, along with their real-life usability.

1. 5-inch TFT Console

TVS has equipped the Apache RTX with the familiar 5-inch TFT instrument cluster seen on a bunch of other TVS two-wheelers, including the Apache RTR 310 and Ntorq 150. The highlight of this console is the new map mirroring feature, which is available in the Top and BTO variants. This feature enables the full map view in the instrumental cluster, thereby enhancing the ease of use for riders.

In addition to this, it also supports TVS SmartXonnect, enabling smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth, with features like phone call and SMS alerts, GoPro control, service reminders, ride analytics and digital document storage. Setting these aside, the 5-inch TFT cluster covers all the basics, including speed, odometer, tachometer, fuel level indicator, distance to empty and more.

2. Riding Modes, ABS and Traction Control

The TVS Apache RTX comes with three riding modes, i.e. Rain, Urban, Rally and Tour. These modes essentially tweak the throttle map, ABS sensitivity and traction control settings. The traction control system has two levels, i.e. Urban and Rally, with the latter being the least intrusive. On the other hand, the ABS has three levels, i.e. Urban, Rain and Rally, with the option of turning off rear ABS. The Rally mode has the least ABS intervention, while the Rain has the highest ABS sensitivity, and Urban is the middle ground.

3. Cruise Control, Bi-Directional Quickshifter and Wheelie Control

The Apache RTX gets the cruiser control system, just like the Apache RR 310 and RTR 310, which is an extremely useful feature on long highway touring. In addition to this, a bi-directional quickshifter lets you perform clutchless upshifts and downshifts, further adding to the convenience. The ADV also feature wheelie control, which prevents the front wheel from lifting off in case of hard accelerations.

4. TPMS & Adaptive LED Headlights

Available only with the BTO package, TPMS shows the real-time tyre pressure for both wheels on the instrument cluster. The adaptive headlight feature on the Apache RTX automatically increases the intensity of light with the increase in speed.

5. Adjustable Suspension Setup & Levers

The BTO variant of the Apache RTX comes with an adjustable suspension setup. The front USD forks get rebound and compression adjustment, while the rear mono-shock gets pre-load adjustment. Apart from this, 4-step adjustable brake and clutch levers are also a part of the package. These adjustments make the Apache RTX favourable for a wider range of riders and use cases.
