The inclusion of six airbags as standard in the Toyota Rumion has certainly bolstered in safety credentials
Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) introduced the Rumion in India just over a couple of years ago. The badge engineered version of the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga now gets six airbags as standard fitment and is priced between Rs. 10.44 lakh and go up to Rs 13.62 lakh (ex-showroom). The rebadged products such as Rumion, Glanza and Hyryder have been performing well in India.
They Hyryder and Glanza contribute significantly to the brand’s volumes every month. The Toyota Rumion is available in a total of five exterior paint options namely Spunky Blue, Rustic Brown, Iconic Grey, Cafe White and Enticing Silver. As for the engine, the familiar 1.5L four-cylinder K15C mild-hybrid petrol engine comes into play with same performance figures as its donor.
The powertrain is goos enough to generate a maximum power output of 103 hp and 136.8 Nm of peak torque and is linked with a five-speed manual transmission as standard or a six-speed torque converter automatic unit as an option. The CNG variant churns out 87.8 hp and 121.5 Nm in CNG mode, and is paired with only a five-speed MT.

The Toyota Rumion is underpinned by the same lightweight Heartect platform as the Ertiga and it features minor visual revisions compared to the best-selling MPV in the country. The end fascia comes with a reworked grille section with chrome outline and black finished hexagonal inserts, triangular black trim around the fog lamps, an air inlet, 15-inch alloy wheels and more.
Buyers will also get 60:40 split second row seat arrangement, AC vents for the second and third rows, Toyota’s i-Connect system with smartwatch compatibility, voice assistance and remote vehicle controls. The seven-seater MPV boasts a claimed fuel economy of 20.51 kmpl for the manual trim, 20.11 kmpl for the automatic and 26.11 km per kg for the CNG version.

The features list of the Toyota Rumion composes a touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a multi-functional steering wheel, hill hold assist, two-tone seat fabric, electronic stability control, reverse parking camera, high-speed alert, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts, etc.
