Toyota posted total volume sale of 28,869 units in June 2025 as against 27,474 units with a YoY positive growth of 5 per cent

Toyota Kirloskar Motor completed the month of June 2025 with total volume sale of 28,869 units — a 5 per cent increase over the 27,474 units sold during the same month last year. Of this, 26,453 units were delivered in the domestic market while exports accounted for 2,416 units. For the first six months of the calendar year, Toyota’s cumulative volumes rose to 1,74,885 units.

The numbers resulted in a 16 per cent year-on-year increase compared to 1,50,250 units registered between January and June 2024. A key product update in June was the launch of the Fortuner and Legender in their 48-volt mild-hybrid configurations. According to Toyota, early market response to the updated Fortuner range has been encouraging.

The Japanese auto major produces Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Legender on its first manufacturing unit in Bidadi, Karnataka. The brand has been reaping benefits of its partnership with Maruti Suzuki as the badge engineered models such as the Urban Cruiser Taisor based on the Fronx, Glanza based on the Baleno and Rumion based on the Ertiga have been contributing to its overall tally.

The second plant in bidadi with an installed capacity of 2.10 lakh units is responsible for Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is one of the top-sellers for the brand domestically and is based on the same platform as the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and both models are sold in mild hybrid, CNG and strong hybrid guises.

Next up, Toyota is looking to bring in its first electric model for India, the Urban Cruiser BEV. It has several commonalities with the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara which is set to go on sale in September and thus we can expect the Toyota midsize e-SUV to arrive before the end of this CY. It will be retailed with two battery packs and the claimed range will go over 500 km.
