Maruti Suzuki posted sales of 2,38,515 units in October 2025 as against 203,190 units with a YoY jump of 10.74 per cent
India’s car market saw a festive surge in October 2025 pushing passenger vehicle sales to new highs. With manufacturers ramping up output to meet seasonal demand, total industry sales climbed to 5.49 lakh units – a jump of 10.74 per cent compared to October last year. Sitting firmly at the top, Maruti Suzuki posted sales of 2,38,515 units during the month – its best performance this financial year.
The company clocked a 17.4 per cent rise year-on-year as models such as the Baleno, Fronx, and Brezza continued their winning run in the domestic market. Maruti recorded its highest ever export tally in a quarter of over 1.10 lakh units in Q2 FY26. Tata Motors maintained its second place finish with 73,877 units sold last month.
The numbers led to a year-on-year increase of just over 12 per cent. The Nexon and Punch continue to anchor Tata’s volumes while its expanding EV range including the Tiago EV and Punch EV contributed meaningfully to total numbers. The Navratri to Diwali festive period proved to be a record-breaking spell for Tata Motors with the company dispatching more than one lakh vehicles in just a month with a 33 per cent increase.

The Nexon continued to dominate Tata’s portfolio by registering over 38,000 deliveries – translating to an impressive 73 per cent surge compared to the previous season. Mahindra followed in third place with 66,467 units – enduring a 6.21 per cent growth compared to October 2024. Its SUV portfolio once again proved to be the backbone with the Scorpio, Bolero, XUV700, XUV 3XO and Thar leading the way.
Hyundai finished in the fourth position, recording a total of 65,045 units – down 7.3 per cent from the previous year. Toyota managed a total of 33,503 units showing a 14 per cent jump year-on-year – driven by consistent demand for the Innova Hycross and Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Kia wasn’t far behind in sixth position at 32,736 units – posting 9.9 per cent growth.

Meanwhile, the Skoda-Volkswagen group, Honda Cars, Renault, and JSW MG filled the remaining spots. In total, October 2025 proved to be an auspicious month. With several launches lined up in the final quarter of this fiscal, automakers are looking to keep this growth trajectory steady well into the new year.
