The Mahindra Scorpio (Scorpio N & Scorpio Classic) topped the 7-seater segment sales chart in September 2025, followed by the Maruti Ertiga
The 7-seater car segment continues to grow in the Indian market with a consistent demand and a long list of models available on sale. With the recent reduction in GST rates, the majority of cars have received a price cut, which also benefited the 7-seater segment.
To begin with, the Mahindra Scorpio (Scorpio N & Scorpio Classic) became the best-selling 7-seater car in the Indian market in September 2025. With 18,372 units in the bag, the SUV recorded a 27% YOY growth, surpassing the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. This highlights the growing demand for the Mahindra SUVs.
The Ertiga MPV slipped to the second spot with the sales bar standing at 12,115 units. It registered a 31% YOY decline as compared to September 2024’s 17,441 units mark. Toyota held its number 3 position in the 7-seater segment with the popular Innova (Innova Hycross & Innova Crysta) nameplate, by selling 9,783 units in September 2025. With a 21% YOY growth, Innova continues its momentum on the sales chart.

The Mahindra Bolero’s sales plummeted with a 66% YOY decline, the highest in this list of top-selling 7-seater cars in India. The recent launch of the updated Bolero with an enhanced feature kit and a significant price reduction will likely help it climb up the sales ladder.
The Renault Triber, which recently received a major mid-life facelift update, registered sales of 2,587 units. The most affordable 7-seater car in the Indian market has benefited from the facelift as it recorded a 68% YOY growth. The Maruti Suzuki XL6 and Tata Safari occupied the last two spots in the top 10 list, with the sales bar standing at 2,170 and 2,000 units, respectively.
