The third-gen Honda Amaze secured a 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection with 28.33 points out of 32 and a 4-star rating for Child Occupant Protection
The third generation Honda Amaze has posted a strong safety performance under Bharat NCAP – securing a 5-star rating for Adult Occupant Protection with 28.33 points out of 32 and a 4-star rating for Child Occupant Protection with 40.81 points out of 49. The model, which entered the Indian market in December 2024, now stands among the safest compact sedans currently on sale in the country.
The latest result is significant for a car positioned as an accessible mass-market sedan. The Bharat NCAP results validate the structural integrity of the Amaze and its ability to deliver consistent crash protection across multiple impact scenarios as laid down by Indian regulations. The new Amaze has been engineered around new body structure that manages crash energy more effectively during frontal and side impacts.
Standard safety kit includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Control, ISOFIX child seat mounts and seatbelt reminders for all occupants. One of its biggest talking points is the presence of Honda Sensing suite of ADAS systems – making it the most affordable ADAS-equipped car in India.

The system brings in features like Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, Road Departure Mitigation, Lead Car Departure Alert and Auto High Beam. In Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), the Amaze secured 28.33 out of 32 units. During the frontal offset deformable barrier test, it scored 14.33 out of 16 while the side movable deformable barrier test contributed another 14 out of 16.
The side pole impact test results were marked okay. The sedan is powered by Honda’s familiar 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and buyers can choose between a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic. The five-seater also delivered a good performance in Child Occupant Protection – scoring 40.81 out of 49 and is made up of a dynamic test score of 23.81 out 24, a perfect CRS installation score of 12 out 12 and a vehicle assessment score of 5 out of 13.

For child safety testing, two dummies were used. The 18-month-old child dummy scored 7.81 out of 8 in frontal impact and a full 4 out of 4 in side impact. The 3-year-old child dummy achieved a perfect 8 out of 8 in frontal impact and 4 out of 4 in side impact. Both tests used Honda Baby & Kids i-Size ISOFIX child seats with support legs.
